Wheatfield's House Teams

Throughout their time at Wheatfield Primary School all of the children will take part in various co-operative team events including our annual Sports Day. On joining the school your child will be allocated to one of our four house teams and siblings will be assigned to the same one. The house teams were named after famous authors and are as follows.

Dahl - This house is named after the talented author Roald Dahl who wrote many rhymes and books including The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach. He even has his own museum in Great Missenden which the children get to visit in Year Two.

Donaldson - This house gets its name from the author Julia Donaldson who is famous for her rhyming books such as The Gruffalo, Stick Man and The Snail and the Whale. She was chosen as a house team due to her familiarity to the children and the huge success her books have had.

Morpurgo - Michael Morpurgo is the author that inspired this house name.  He was born in St Albans and was a teacher himself for ten years. Many of his books have been awarded prizes and he was the third Children's Laureate.

Shakespeare - William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor. His works have been translated into 80 languages and he helped shape the English we use today, introducing up to 300 words and dozens of well-known phrases. He is the final inspiration for our house teams.
